Privacy policy

How we handle information when you visit njmit.ca or contact us through this website.

Who is responsible

Nick James Media & IT (NJMIT) operates this website from Lethbridge, Alberta. Our privacy contact is Nick James. Send privacy questions or requests to hello@njmit.ca.

This policy covers this public website and inquiries made through it. Separate agreements or notices may apply to client projects, third-party websites and other applications.

Information you provide

Our contact form asks for your name, email address, an optional organization name and your message. We use this information to respond, discuss services, prepare quotes and manage related business communications. Please do not send passwords, payment-card information or other highly sensitive information through this form.

Messages are delivered through Resend to our business email system, Google Workspace. Submitting an inquiry does not subscribe you to a marketing mailing list. We do not sell the information submitted through this website.

Website operation and security

Cloudflare hosts and protects this website. Cloudflare Turnstile helps verify contact submissions and reduce abuse. These services can process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device details, request URLs, referring page, approximate country and security signals.

Our form service uses security logs, short-lived rate-limit counters and duplicate-submission checks. These can include request metadata, submission outcomes and a temporary email-based duplicate-check key. They are separate from optional marketing analytics and help keep the contact form reliable.

Cookie-free traffic statistics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for baseline page-view and website-performance statistics separately from optional Google Analytics. Its measurement does not use cookies or local storage, and Cloudflare states that it does not fingerprint visitors for these statistics. It can measure page loads, referrers, browser and device categories, and performance timings.

Turning off Google Analytics does not turn off Cloudflare hosting, security or cookie-free traffic statistics. Browser content blockers may block the Web Analytics beacon. We do not send contact-form field contents to analytics services.

Optional Google Analytics

Google Analytics 4 is on by default unless you turn it off using the notice near the footer or Privacy settings. Google can use analytics cookies and process information about visited pages, traffic sources, browser and device details, approximate location, engagement and interactions such as email-link clicks and successfully delivered inquiries.

We do not send the names, email addresses, organization names or messages entered in our contact form to Google Analytics. Advertising storage, advertising user data, Google signals and ad personalization remain disabled in our website configuration.

Your Google Analytics choice is stored locally on your device for up to six months. You can turn analytics off or back on through Privacy settings in the footer. Opting out does not prevent you from using the website or contacting us. It stops further Google tracking, clears this site's Google Analytics cookies and reloads without its tracking code; it does not automatically remove information already collected by Google. If preference storage cannot be read, analytics stays off unless you turn it on for that visit.

Service providers and processing locations

We use Cloudflare for website delivery, security and cookie-free traffic statistics; Resend for form-email delivery; and Google Workspace for business email. Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager provide analytics unless you opt out, as described above. Providers process information as needed to provide their services and under their applicable terms.

Information may be processed outside Alberta or Canada and may be subject to the laws of the locations where our providers operate. We may also disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents or legal claims.

Retention and protection

We retain inquiry emails and related business records while needed to respond, manage our relationship, meet legal or accounting obligations, or address disputes. Retention depends on the type and purpose of the record. Provider logs, analytics records and backups follow their relevant settings and retention cycles; deletion from active systems may not immediately remove backup copies.

We use HTTPS and access-controlled services to protect information. No website or communication system can guarantee absolute security. Contact us if you need to discuss a more appropriate way to share sensitive project information.

Your questions and choices

Contact hello@njmit.ca to ask about information we hold about you, request access or correction, request deletion, withdraw consent, or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity, and legal or business recordkeeping requirements may limit what we can delete or disclose.

Links to client and other third-party websites lead to services with their own privacy practices. We may update this policy when our practices change; the date above identifies the latest revision.

Privacy settings

Google Analytics is on by default unless you have turned it off. It helps NJMIT understand which pages people visit and whether inquiries are successfully sent. It can use cookies and process usage data such as pages viewed, browser and device details, and approximate location.

We do not send the information you type into our contact form to Analytics. Advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalization remain disabled. Essential contact-form security operates separately.

Cookie-free Cloudflare traffic statistics, hosting and contact-form security operate separately from optional Google Analytics. These are not disabled by the Google Analytics setting. Read our privacy policy for details.

Your choice is saved on this device for six months. Turning analytics off does not prevent you from using the website or contacting us. It stops further Google tracking and clears this site's Google Analytics cookies, but does not delete information already collected. You can change your choice here at any time. If preference storage cannot be read, analytics stays off unless you turn it on for that visit.
